2020.09.27 04:26 35mmwavesCan you still change from the SAT subject tests to SAT1?
I signed up in October to take subject tests because I thought seats were going to run out. My August SAT1 was cancelled though, and I want to take that first. I tried to change the information on the page but it said that the date has passed to change registration. Is there any way at all I can still change subject tests to SAT1?
2018.06.11 20:57 4THOTWhy Incursion succeeds where so many previous leagues failed.
We've now had 10 days to play with the current league and player satisfaction appears to be extremely high. I've written this post to say why.
One thing that always bugged me previously about the way GGG used content for "player retention" was basing it in RNG; liches, random prophecies, random beast rewards, random essences etc. etc. etc. In actuality this slot machine RNG is unsatisfying and frustrating for most people and actively destroys their intrinsic motivations to play. There are several studies since the 1970's showing that minor compensation for a task actually decrease a persons desire to attend school, work for a charity, put in more effort at work. These same motivation theories and models apply directly to games and players. One way that this new league has made a leap forward is giving players more agency over their reward via targeting temple rooms, which is one of the three main factors that have been shown to improve performance in tasks more complicated than basic mechanical skills and improve personal satisfaction.
This league has done an excellent job at making the league system based in player autonomy. Compared to previous leagues an individual has an order of magnitude more control over what their individual efforts are seeking to accomplish and their rewards and gives an extremely satisfying player experience. This has been discovered and rediscovered by various industries and is becoming it's own field of study known as behavioral economics. Here's a GDC talk about how these three specific motivators if you want more specific details related to games, timestamped for convenience. So the prediction, based on these behavioral theories I've cited, is that this league will have the highest player retention to date. I look forward to more player data becoming available via SteamCharts and GGG over the coming month. My hope for the future of this league going core is integrating previous random league mechanics, like beastiary, essence, abyss, prophecy and legacy into the temple as well.

Hi guys, I currently have two 1530's on the SAT superscored to a 1540. I'm also planning on applying for engineering and computer science for a variety of top schools and ivy leagues, which means that SATII Physics would really be a boost for me if I do well. However, there is only one more test date in August before my applications are due--there aren't any ACT test dates before then either (that I can register for). Therefore, I am left with two options: Physics or attempting to boost my SAT1. Which one should I take? Tldr I can only take either physics or SAT1 but not both--which to take?

Hopefully these kind of threads will help follow redditors who are not up to date with great games that were already translated. We start this series with Langrisser, one of the best turn-based Tactical JRPGs, the game is similar to the famous Fire Emblem series in it's general idea, though it expands on everything from the scale of battles to the branching of classes, story paths and recruitable characters and endings.
Art & Graphics: One of the game's biggest highlights is how the characters are brought to life by the beautiful illustrations by artist Satoshi Urushihara, It is truly a pleasure to feast on his illustrations as the game goes on, because of his amazing attention to detail and the uniqueness of each character and especially the kind of armor each one has. You will enjoy it immensely, especially if you were a fan of anime during the 90s when you knew how powerful a character was by how big are his Shoulder Pads.
Gameplay: The series aim is to give the player the feeling of fighting actual wars and skirmish to save the world, instead of the usual 3 to 16 group of heroes in most Jrpgs, The Langrisser games starts of the story by giving you control of 3 to 4 units, and as the story unfolds and you gain allies each battle transforms into a full fledged war to where you control 20 unites and upwards. While the actual battle is played in a bird-eye view like in the pictures shown, when a unit attacks another the view shifts to a resemble battles not unlike which are found in the Suikoden 2.
The strategy part of the game comes from various parts, First you have the usual rock-paper-scissors system where depending on the weapon the unit uses, it gains or losses an advantage against the enemy it's engaging in combat, unlike the name though there is more than 3 kinds of weapons in the game, Secondly there is also the matter of how terrain affects battles, like sea-units having the upper hand on sea or if on unit is fighting from a higher elevation then it gets a better bonus to it's combat ability and so on. Also while planning your formation and strategy you also have to account for a leader's command area, in where each leader will give bonus combat and moral advantage to all units within his command area, also meaning that units outside a the command zone are weaker and more vulnerable. Each battle has main and side objectives, how well you complete each will also effect what path you take in the game, also worth mentioning is that death is permanent most of games in this series, meaning that if a leader dies in battle he is gone for good. There are lots of secrets and hidden items in almost every map. To aid you in combat and battles you can use spells, buy weapons and armor for your units and use healing or support items. Each leader, like in Fire Emblem, can be promoted into a higher class at fixed levels, though in Langrisser you have more options and branches to what you can promote each leader to, specially since most leader have their own unique classes that only they can promote to. Promoting doesn't only upgrade and change how you leader does battle but also changes what units he starts with in battle, from knights to dragons to even ninjas, choosing what branch your leader takes is very important since it also opens up even higher promotions later on, for example your main character can go from from a Fighter to either a Knight or a Lord or a Shaman, then from a Lord he can be promoted to either Bishop or High Lord and later on to either a Saint or a King, or from Shaman, he can be promoted to Magic Knight or Mage and then later on to either a Silver Knight or an Archmage, there is still even more promotes after the third one but it all depends on which path you take.
Music: Composed by Noriyuki Iwadare, who also did the music for the Lunar and Grandia games, if that doesn't convince you then I won't say much and I'll let the music speak for it's self with a"Knight's Errand", and this is on the Sega Genesis.
Story: Nothing much to be said here, it's the usual anime cliches that if you played your share of Jrpgs you should be used to it by now, except that now you have different paths you can take depending on what choice you make during the game, each path is very different and leads to different endings, characters you were happy to have as friends in one path are your mortal enemies in the other ones and so on.
Patch and Translation: Sadly, Of the six games for the Langrisser series only 2 were translated into English:
1-Langrisser 2 (my favorite): Of which there are two versions, the Snes version by Byuu and D-Boy, the Sega version done by MIJET. 2-Langrisser 4: Made for the PS1, the translation was done by Kil. I hope that people found this helpful and informative, and if you have any more questions about the translation or the series as a whole then please don't hesitate to post them here.
2013.07.06 22:34 noirargent[FIGHT THREAD] Felix Sturm vs Pedrag Radosevic
Date: Saturday July 6th, 2013 Location: Westfalenhalle, Dortmund, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany Television: Germany SAT1; Hungary Sport 1 Time: 1:45 PM PST Felix Sturm 37(16)-3-2 vs Pedrag Radosevic 27(9)-0 Pre-fight rating: ★ ★ ★ 12 Rounds in the middleweight division for the IBF International Middleweight Championship Felix Strum is the long time reigning, controversial Middleweight champion from Germany. Sturm has had an interesting career. His first big win was in a split decision loss to Oscar De La Hoya in his first fight at 160. Sturm came to America and lost a controversial decision (this will be a pattern throughout the rest of his career) in which many believed he won. After the loss, he returned to Germany with his tail between his legs to never fight outside of his home country again. Stylistically, you could say Sturm is a hybrid counter-puncher. He likes to throw at the same time and always return favors. Thus, split decisions and controvery follow him around because it's tough for him and his opponent to separate themselves as a clear victor when they are near the same skill level. He's coming off a disastrous no contest to 42-11 Sam Soliman who has since been popped for traces of methylsynephrine (a weight loss compound) in his A sample. Before the fight had been declared a no-contest, Soliman was given a UD with scores ranging from 116-111 to 113-114. Obviously a close fight, but to Sam Soliman is very disappointing. Sturm had previously lost a close split decision to Australian Daniel Geale. Sturm has also had a split draw with Martin Murray. On the other side of the ring will be the undefeated pride of Podgorica, Montenegro, the reigning and defending IBF International middleweight champion... Pedrag Radosevic!!!! Radosevic is 27 and 0 with 9 KO's. Which is to say he's the perfect name for Strum to insert himself back into the middleweight title picture (for anyone willing to trek to Germany.) Radosevic has not fought much out of the Balkans and now finds himself in the position to put himself in the spotlight at 160. I've never seenhim fight and never seen any of his opponents fight either. The middleweight division is packed right now. There is a monster that guards the titles and that is Gennady Golovkin. Under him is the injured, on the shelf, Sergio Martinez. The rest of the pack are Daniel Geale, Peter Quillin, Martin Murray, Darren Barker. On the outskirts of the upper tier are Sam Soliman, Andy Lee, Matthew Macklin, Gabe Rosado, Hasson N'Dam N'Jikam, and Marco Antonio Rubio (lol). I'm not sure if Julio Cesar Chavez Jr is considered a middleweight anymore. An impressive win for Sturm could have GGG appear under his bed. If he continues his descent he could have a new prospect on the horizon. Either way, I doubt Sturm will lose a decision and I also doubt Radosevic can knock him out. My prediction: Sturm UD 117-111 Watch it here.
